Background:

A short overview of your work, experience, and role in agriculture.
I am a 4 th generation farmer in Bakersfield, CA. We farm Almonds, potatoes, carrots, garlic,
onions, corn, wheat and alfalfa. We are vertically intergreated in Almond industry with
partnership with our huller and handler.

Connection to Regenerative Agriculture:

Describe how you are involved in regenerative practices, why they matter to you, or how they
connect to your work.

I first heard about Regenerative Ag around 2019 and when COVID hit and the cost of fertilizer
went through the roof. It made a lot of sense to me that taking care of the soil would take care of
the plant and trees. I started experimenting with cover crop in 2021 and over the past few years
we have expanded covers in all our Almond acres and started bringing in Sheep to graze and
cycle those nutrients from the cover crops.

Areas of Passion/Expertise:
Share your focus areas, strengths, or what excites you most about the future of farming and
regeneration.

I am passionate growing a more nutrient dense crops in a way to reduce the dependence on use
so many chemicals to control pest and fungi. I am passionate about the health of our children
and the environment we live in with so many chronic diseases affecting so many people in our
country. I am a strong believer that food should be our main source of medicine.

Personal Note:
We are currently in the process of getting all our Almond acres certified regenerative though
Regenivied and with our partnership with a Consumer Package Goods we are close to launching
a Regenerative Almond Butter.
